Can you believe that it is already the last day of January! Yikes!
Look what I spent this morning doing ...

Shopping for bed linen and new throws and cushions and bits and pieces. I felt like a change this year... we moved into our house five years ago today :-) and I thought I needed a change, so I moved stuff around in all the rooms and I think I am happy, all of the wood is dark in our home and I have gone with cream curtains upstairs and so my linen is all cream except in my room I added this kind of beige colour duvet... the I got some divine little bowls from my TT girls for my birthday that I really wanted to used in my bedroom so I decided to with Brown, beige, cream and turquoise in my bedroom and it looks fabulous.

I may give you sneak peaks into the other rooms as I finish moving stuff around.

I don't have anything crafty for you today but probably tomorrow. I started working on something last night for our place in Uvongo, I need something to go between the book shelves above the TV.

Well it wasn't supposed to be for two but now it is. How civilized is Sunday afternoon tea ... I made a batch of cupcakes (thank you Ina Paarman) and I will make cucumber and cheese sandwiches, cut into little triangles.  I will make tea in a teapot instead of in a mug, and we will sit on the patio in the late afternoon sun. Have a wonderful sunny Sunday.

I see skies of blue, no clouds of white, bright blessed day, (all sung in best Louis Armstrong voice)

In fact this is the view that greets me each day in my studio.

and it is a bright blessed day.....

Birds on the Wire is my take on Challenge no 1. At sunset each day hundreds of these little birds came and sat on the telephone lines.  So  in true scrapper style I took photos.

When I scraplift I always end up deviating completely from the sketch or layout that I am using, but it does get me going and that is what I think it is all about. Giving me my mojo back. Anyway, on this layout I used cardstock and one piece of patterned paper (the name ofwhich for the life of me I cant remember) that I used both sides of. I chose a peachy colour bazzil for the background, and the big circle I did in a deeper shad of the same colour and then painted it with a Tim Holtz mini mister to give a shimmer for sunset. I left the photos as is because they were almost black and white anyway. The patterned paper I used for the strip down the right had side of the left hand page, and made a strip of the reverse side to use along the  bottom with the black ribbon (for the wire). I cut out the flying birds in black bazzil using my Slice.  Finally I used some flowers in the same green from the patterned paper just for a pop of colour.

I hope you will try this challenge too.

Have a glorious Saturday.

A couple of weeks ago I joined in with a 'PAY IT FORWARD' craft thing. I agreed to make and send to the first 10 people who commented on my status. I have made my first one and it is ready to go. I know it is RED and NO it is not for YOU! You know who you are. I made one for myself last year and it is nice to have a Birthday Calender. I also stamped little birthday messages on all the pages of the months inside.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

Today was the last official TT at Scrapbook Emporium. The shop is to be closed at the end of the month unless Tiffany can pull a rabbit out of the hat and sell it. We may have to find somewhere else to scrap which is not been easy. TT has been going for six years now and was started in Kyalami when Des, Cher and I started scrapping there. In 2006 we moved to Scrapbook Emporium which is closer to home for all of us.... Ilse joined us some time after that and then in 2009, at the Scrapbook Convention, Shan - who is the youngest member - was invited to join our very small and very select little group (not only because she is such an awesome person, but because she halved our average age :-)). Although the shop closing wont stop us scrapping on a Thursday it is the end of an era.

Looking forward to what the future throws at us....

Challenge No1

I love to work with Becky Fleck's page maps. I have been collecting them since she first started and when I have lost my mojo I turn to one of her designs and I am good to go again. I have some fabulous pics of little birds that were sitting on the telephone line outside the house where we stayed in Hermas and I am desperate to use them - so watch this space. Why not join in the challenge and we can compare the results.

So look what Jackie did with this challenge... I love her clean lines... just my style.....

Thanks for playing Jax... hope you are up for the next one.....

I have just come back from the most amazing week in Hermanus and I am officially in love. I have only been so drawn to a place once before and that was Thailand :-)

Who could not be taken in by such peace and beauty!

I have such amazing photos and loads of ideas for pages, cards and other projects which I hope to share with you.

Thanks for stopping by...

Ok! So here goes nothing.

I have decided to create a blog to share what I think I have to share.

I have been thinking about doing this for a long time and because I am a procrastinator I have found all kinds of excuses as to why I should not do it... this is the year of change for me. Big changes and small changes, one step at a time.

I am going to use this blog to share my ideas, thoughts, and creations with whomever wants to go take this journey with me. This is the first year that I have not made any New Years Resolutions, because I am fed up with not being able to stick to them, so I figured if I didn't make any, I wouldn't break them. BUT.... I did decide that this year would be a year of change and so here is the first baby step for me.
