A couple of weeks ago I posted a page that I done of my mother, myself and my daughter, all taken at around 21. I loved the page and decided to one of Simon, his dad and Clint. I changed this one around and decided to do the three of them now.  I love how this turned out and it shows just how similar they are to look at.

I have also finished my April challenge page but will only put it up once I have the other girls pages.

Its cold here, winter is well and truly on its way. So for those of you in winter I hope you can stay warm.

When you scrap do you just scrap pictures or do you use ephemera as well? I collect stuff wherever I go and I keep boxes, tins and containers if I think I may be able to use them again. I don't have kids at home anymore so I don't have a lot of child related pages to do, well I do from a hundred years ago - but that doesn't count. What I am trying to say is that you don't have to scrap people or places or pets. You can scrap things and I have developed a love for perfumes and I buy them because they smell nice, or they come in pretty bottles or boxes. :) One of my favourite perfumes is Kenzo and I adored the box this one came in and so I cut it up to use on my page and then I found the perfect paper to use too... Don't you just love it when a plan comes together.... :)

I can't believe that a week has gone by without a post from me.... How bad is that? I am so sorry, I just don't know where the time goes. That and the fact that I have been having huge technological difficulties  :( I have some TT pages on my phone and I can't get them off. I can see them on the phone but when I hook up to the computer it tells me there is nothing there. Oh well I have some pages for you anyway.

This first one is of my cat Smack who was  about 18 years old in these pictures, sadly I had to put her down on boxing day two years ago, which left me totally devastated as we had had her since she was a kitten. She really was the most amazing cat who would come to you like a dog when you called her and she would sleep with me inside the bed. I was not able to get another cat for nearly a year after she went. I am happy to say that I now have another one Hansa who could not be more different to Smack if he tried. He is a beautiful cat with a crap attitude. I did this page for Smack a few months ago and the whole page just brings the memories of her flooding back. I miss you still :(

On a much happier note this page is of my Holly when she was about four or five months old. She loved to play in the flower beds. I was very lucky with all three of my yorkies - none of them was destructive in the garden. She is still the littlest of my babies in fact she looks more like a little teddy bear than a dog, especially when she sits on her haunches. She is a real snuggler.

I hope to sort out all my computer problems soon and promise to post more often. Have a wonderful Tuesday wherever you are and whatever you are doing.

I was looking through all the pages that I have done since I started scrap booking and came across this one, that was done for one of the scrapbook magazines here, and it struck a chord for me and so I am going to share it with you.

The title is LIFE and I used some picture of boats that I took when we went to Inhaca for our anniversary a couple of years ago.

The journaling reads:

"Life communicates with us all the time and it is a lesson to see how life continuously has led me to people I need to meet, to the situations I need to experience and to the places I need to be. There has never been any real reason to worry since all small  individual rivers are on their way to the ocean, to the whole. It is not about swimming , it is about relaxing and learning to float with the river in a basic trust that life already leads towards the sea of consciousness, towards the whole." Swami Dhyan Gilen

I think sometimes we fight so hard to control situations and we look so hard to find the why's, when in fact we should trust that everything in our lives is just as it is meant to be, and that we should rather be learning the lessons. We only have this life and it is not a dress rehearsal.

On a much lighter but still serious note to all the South Africans out there I hope that you are going to vote tomorrow. If you don't vote you don't have the right to complain. Be the change you want to see.

It's Monday morning, and a gorgeous day here on the highveld. There is that winter nip in the air and as I am sitting having my morning tea and writing all my "to do's" for the week I spotted these two little birds at the bird bath. Totally oblivious to everything around them, playing in the water and looking like they were just enjoying life. I didn't think I would have time to get my camera and take a picture - but I did.

As I was sitting watching them I realize how much we complicate our lives, we rush from one thing to the next, packing our days full, so much so that we often forget to stop and really notice what is going on around us and what we have to be grateful for. It is so easy to forget the little things.

I found a blog over the weekend where they were encouraging you to take a picture every day of something that you are grateful for, and I thought it was a fabulous idea. I don't know if I will stick to it but I think it is a good idea because it will make me stop and think about all the things that I  have am grateful for.

Take time to smell the roses.....

Well it's the weekend again, and I was reminded this morning by a friend, I bumped into at the shops, that I haven's posted for a while. Thank you Karen Stein :) you are right I haven't. Blogger was down and when ever I tried to get into my blog  the screen just went white. I realised this morning that I had tried to add a widget and clearly something went wrong and when I removed the widget, viola, there was my blog again.

We have started another challenge with the Thursday girls. Mine is nearly done. I will post that up soon. In the meantime I am going to share with you an acrylic album that I made. I think it may have been one of the classes at one of the conventions but I don't remember. Anyway here it is. I chose to do it in purple and lime green because I loved the papers, and I used pictures from a family shoot we had. Which also reminds me it is time to have another one.

This is the front cover of the album, and you can see through the layers to the other pages. The trickiest part of the whole exercise is making sure that you can see through all the layers and that you don't block the entire album.

So I started the album with a picture of me because I wanted to do it on my family. I put the picture of me in the top quarter matted on a small square of the purple. Diagonally opposite I pasted a small round window and then left the page at that except for the flower and a bit of paint around the edges.

This is the back side of the front cover. As you can see you get the reverse side of the window for another picture to show through, and I put a picture over the backside of the mat, and finished it of with some ric.rac along the edge.

Then came this page. I used the same corners in this page and just changed the papers.

And this was the back side of the page above.  All the time you are using the same areas and covering any unsightly papers from the other side.

This page is the back side of the page above, and because I was now at the end of the album I scrapped on three quarters of the page.

The final page has been scrapped all over.

And finally the outside cover of the back page.

If you haven't done one of these yet, I hope you are inspired to give it a try it really was a lot of fun to do. I hope you all have a good weekend whatever you are doing. I know I see sport in my future :( Have fun.\

Well it is Tuesday already, and I din't post yesterday because we had no internet. I hate when that happens :( I hope that you all have a wonderful mother's day where ever you were and whatever you did. I want to share with you the gifts I got from my kids, and I love them so much for many reasons but most of all for their thoughtfulness.

I decided a while ago that I loved the Willow Tree Angels and that I wanted to collect them. So my kids added to my collection for mothers day. I got the' loving' angel which is this one below. She is holding a red rose in her hands.

And, this one which is named 'quietly' and depicts a mother with her two kids. So they got this one for me to represent our relationship and I love it.

I haven't been doing very much that is crafty lately... I have been pinning and I love it. My boards are taking shape and I am getting loads of inspiration from them and I am sure that I will have something for you very soon.

Hope you all enjoy what is left of your day.

Well it's Mothers Day weekend and because I probably won't post tomorrow I thought I would do it today. So to all you wonderful mothers out there I hope that you are spoilt rotten tomorrow. You deserve it...

An to my beautiful mother who died almost 30 years ago. Happy Mothers Day!.... I wish I could see you just one more time to tell you how much I love you, not a day goes by that I don't wish you were here. I wish I had not taken our time together so much for granted. There are a millions things I wish I could tell you. I wish you could have met your grand-children. I wish you could see what a close family we are and most of all that despite all that happened I think I turned out ok and I hope that you would have been proud of me.... I love you Mom. xx

Before you say but it's not Thursday, I know that. :) Even though I have been confused this week because of all the holidays. This should have been posted yesterday but I ran out of time and I am posting now but it is the Thursday Therapy challenge. Naming and shaming worked for Shan - she brought her page yesterday so here is her take on the Believe in Yourself challenge. I am hoping to get Des and Ilse's in the very near future.

I also have another couple of pages from Cher and the reason I am putting them up is because they are the same page with the same size and number of pictures etc. One was done for her son and the other for her daughter.

I love how different they have turned out yet it is the same page...

Thanks for taking a look.

I have just discovered and I am officially hooked - While I was browsing the boards I came across this and I love it so I just want to let you know that on this blog I am a big deal :)

Even thought we have had so many holidays this month I have managed to get some stuff done in between  the other stuff.

This is another one of the Bo Bunny pages that we did at Beautiful Scrapbooks. I have wanted to do a page of my mother, me and my daughter (all at the same age) for so long and I finally did it.

The last of the pages I did with a very good friend Cally. I hope that you have enjoyed looking at these pages from the day.
