I hope that you all had a wonderful weekend, and that it was cold enough for those of you that live in SA.  Yesterday my dear husband brought me breakfast in bed.... Porridge with chopped apple and a few raisins and cinnamon. So nice on a cold day. Then he also cooked lunch for me - yes he did - he did roast beef, with roast potatoes and onion, yorkshire puddings, gems with peas and corn and then for pudding he got some yummy apple danish in phyllo pastries. The kids came over and we had a seriously nice day.

Then he gave me a little piece of paper all folded up nicely... when I opened it it was an order for another ipad 2. My own... I think he got sick of me hogging the one we have now. To say that I am over the moon is an understatement. I am delighted. Watch this space. :)

I don't know if you collect loads of ephemera from your trips and outings. I do and I love to use them on my pages. I was lucky enough to go to Mashatu with some friends. We stayed at the Rennies camp and had the most amazing time, and anyone who knows me knows that I am so not a bush person. It was fantastic. I took loads of photos and used the brochure from Mashatu as well. This has to be one of my favourite pages because I was one of my favourite trips.

Until tomorrow keep warm.

I am an avid reader and collector of books, much to my husbands dismay. But I only collect books of authors that I love and I love many :) and for Christmas this year he gave me a kindle, which I love, but its not the same as having the book to hold, and smell, and touch and see. I think I have about 800 books on my kindle too. I don't suppose I will ever need to get more books unless of course one of my authors brings out a new one and then I will have to. I have to have complete sets.

This is a page that shows my love of books. I love how it turned out.

I am back again. I know I have been really bad about blogging lately but there has just been so much to do with trying to get my life back together after my computer crashed. I really thought it wouldn't be too bad, but boy was I wrong I couldn't get my emails to work and one of my mails goes through Simon's work server, finally got that sorted out. I could not get my three printers to work, it was either one or the other or none, and without the two I can't scrap. I am still having problems with one of them but I can manage without it for a bit. I think I have now got everything back to normal, here's holding thumbs. I only had Windows XP before and now I have Windows 7 and they are so different. But I think I am all good now.

I have also been really busy knitting and crocheting flowers. I love this new hobby. I want to attempt a jersey.... Huge I know but I am going to try. :D

This is what I have been doing. I started with the gloves and then I decided to try a pair of leg warmers and after a few false starts I had made a pair and they are fabulous. I then started to play around with designs and I am delighted with the results. So were the TT girls who I am happy to say I can trust. I now have orders for some from my dear daughter.

I did have something else to show you in the scrapping line. I love to scrap with loads of photo's and while I am really enjoying doing one page layouts with one photo, I always go back to multiple photos. I did this page of our house once we had moved in and got settled. I really love my house and although it is really too big for the two of us now I have no inclination to move.

This page was done for my garden which I also love - especially at the beginning of summer when everything is in flower.

I had loads of photos that I wanted to use so I created hinged flaps on either side of the page so that they revealed more pictures when they were opened.

I was also able to include my journalling.

There is always a way that you can include more photos onto a page.

Thanks for stopping by. I will try to blog more often now that I am up and running again.

One of the reasons that I have been so bad with my daily blogs is that I have had so much going on ... I know I need to say no to some things but when it comes to crafty things I can't. On one of our trips away one of the Girls Susie McWilliams was knitting fingerless gloves and we all loved them and got her to show us how to do it. I was hooked and have made a few pairs and for friends to. I have seen in photos on the net that leg warmers are back in fashion. Not like we wore them in the 80's but peeping out of boots, so I decided to give it a try and I am delighted with the result.

This is a picture of the leg warmers with a flower detail which will stick out above the boot and the fingerless gloves. I will take a picture when I have them on so you can see what they look like on.

We have another holiday tomorrow so if you are one of the lucky ones that has a break tomorrow I hope you have a wonderful day and enjoy whatever it is you are going to be doing.

Yesterday I spent the day with six friends at Beryl Carvalho's house learning to make wire trees. Yes wire trees. I really went just for the company, I didn't think I really wanted to make a wire tree, what was I going to do with a wire tree. Even when I saw the tree I wasn't blown away, but then we started to make the trees and I was fully into making this tree. We used copper wire that came in lightly twisted lengths, choose the lengths you want, about five - depending on the thickness of the tree and you then start to twist and unfold and twist and crimp until you tree is just the way you want it. I opted for a tree with a flat back so that I could mount it later.

And this is what my finished tree looked like. Pretty cool I think. Then when I got home I sprayed the tree with a matt black spray paint. I like the matt finish but you can use whatever you like and whatever colour you like.

So the finished tree looks like this. I have a plan and I love it when a plan comes together. So watch this space for the finished work of art.

I didn't post anything yesterday, because I was too busy trying to get my computer sorted out. News is I am back up and running without too much of a hiccup. The retrieving of lost data wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I did lose some music but that was about all. Soooooooooo.

I have another page from one of the Thursday girls, Des Casserly, she is amazing and yes I am biased when it comes to the TT girls. Hope you enjoy.

I told you I was really getting into the single pages. Here are another couple of pages that I have done. This one is one of my favourites... I used white cardstock and painted it. I love paint and I use it a lot in my scrapbooking. I also tried my hand at doodling the title, this is another thing I am totally getting into at the moment and if you like it you should take a look at Stephanie Ackermans blog. I love her work.

I don't have many pictures of my mother and I have said before I don't know why. I have even less of my mom and dad together so I like to scrap the ones that I do have. This has to be one of my favourite pages. It was taken in Durban when they were on their honeymoon, I don't know where they were or what they were doing or where they were going, they are both so smartly dressed.... but where are my mothers shoes? She NEVER went barefoot ever and she had the most beautiful hands and feet that I have ever seen on anyone.

Have a fabulous rest of your week end and stay warm. I am going to Pin :D

Hello Wednesday. I don't know about you but it has been so cold today, with raging winds and heavy rain throughout most of the night, in winter for goodness sake. We are not supposed to have howling winds and rain in June. Luckily for me I didn't have to go out today, I am still busy trying to restore all the things that I lost on my computer. Thank God for my external hard drive. I would have been a very unhappy bunny if I had lost all of that stuff too.

Anyhow, I do have something for you as promised. Another single page. I NEVER scrap single pages, I don't like to have them in an album. Weird ... I know, but I am working on it and I have to say I am loving doing them. They are so quick. This was scrap lifted from a layout that I saw ages ago and made a note to do, and now I can't find it and so I don't know whose the original was. I have just copied some elements from the original page, the general design and the top left hand corner - I love that piece. These are my favourite colours and I am very happy with the way it turned out.

Enjoy the rest of the day and keep warm if you are in the cold.....

Hello everyone... just to let you know I am back. My computer crashed last week and so I have been off-line since. I got my new bigger, faster, sexier computer last night and I am still busy trying to get it all set up. I am nearly there and I promise to have something for you by tomorrow. Boy what a mission to try and recover everything that you lost. Thankfully all of my photos and scrapping stuff is kept on my external hard drive and I thought I was ok with the rest... just the programes... pfffffttttt. Didn't I learn the hard way. Anyway I just wanted to let you know that I haven't fallen off the end of the world, you can't get rid of me that easily. See you tomorrow. xx
