Hi everyone,

I want to share my latest layout with you. The sketch I used was taken from the Let's Scrap site.

and this is my take on it

I used papers from My Minds Eye - Penny Lane range, which just fitted in so well with the feel I was trying to get.

All of the papers except the background paper was from my stash. The background paper is pearly bazzil. I have kept it clean and simple and I am very happy with the result.

Well we are already half way through another week. Seriously, I don't know where the time goes. I have completed another project towards my 100 layouts for 2012. One of the girls in Simon's office had a birthday and I made this card for her. I also took it from their bi-weekly challenge but I was too late to enter it.

This is the inside of the card.

I am off to weigh now :( not been a good time for me with my weight but I will keep clocking in and I am taking responsibility for my weight and I have discovered that food IS my comfort. :( but I will be back later because in keeping with my whole new year thing I had a huge clean out of my studio so that I would be well and truly organised this year to get some serious crafting in. NO MORE PROCRASTINATING :D

See you later ...

I have been thinking a lot lately about making some changes in my life. I think it comes with the whole New Year thing and the fact that my birthday is also in January, I know also that it is such a hectic time of year but I have decided that I need to de-clutter and re-organise my life. So that begins tomorrow morning - I am going shopping for baskets. Mahogany baskets with cream linings.

I have also joined a site called  Let's Scrap more specifically I have joined their groups...100 layouts in 2012. Yes I am going to try and do 100 layouts this year.  I also love their group - Organise your Stash and Scrap your Stash. I am a hoarder of not in my studio and I am a procrastinator too.... No more. :D

I am also going to do Becky Higgins' Project Life where she challenges you to take a photo each day for 365 days. This is going to be a tough one but I am hoping it will improve my photos and make me look at things a little differently.

I am going to start on Feb 1. This will give me the next week to get myself organised. To plan my time and organise my life to.

What are you wanting to do this year ?

On our most recent trip to Ireland Simon booked us into B & B in Kilkenny. It was called Butler House and is one of the most beautiful places that I have stayed. I couldn't wait to scrap these photos. I will get around to doing a page on the inside too.

I have joined Let's Scrap and all of the groups. You will find the buttons on the left hand side of my blog. I am hoping that it will motivate me to scrap more, organise my stash better, use my stash instead of buying more and help me with my photography. Go and take a look at the site it is wonderful.

Have a wonderful weekend whatever your plans are.

Thursday 12 th Jan 2012 was a fabulous day for me. Firstly I was born in 1956 and I turned 56 :D and secondly it was the first TT of the year. For those of you who don't know what TT is ... that is the name we gave our scrapping group. Thursday Therapy, and it is. It is not for sissies, we don't stroke ego's and we don't hold back... but for me it is the very best place to be on a Thursday and I really miss it over the December holidays.

This is me, the birthday girl, with the amazing card that Ilse made for me on behalf of all of them. I have to just say here that we do the VERY best birthdays for each other. :D

So every Thursday we meet for breakfast at around 7.30 here at Doppio (sometimes we change). Then at around 9.00 we go to Scrap Therapy (the shop) and scrap till 12.

These are the girls... on the left at the back is Cher, in front of her is my daughter Storm who joined us for breakfast for my birthday. In front of her on the right is her friend Tammy who is also a school teacher. Hiding behind Tam is Desi and right at the back is Ilse.

Here is a closer picture of Desi and Ils. Cher Des and I have been scrapping for about 10 years - every Thursday and Ils joined us 6 years ago. :D I love these girls they are the best.

These are my fabulous presents - making them look too good to open :D

The staff at the restaurant brought this to me after breakfast and they all sang for me it was wonderful. They really know how to make a girl feel special.

I thought I would give you a close up of the card that Ilse made for me... in pale blue and brown - I think that this has to be one of my favourite stamps and I think I need to play with it. I love the brown glitter letters.

Thank you girls for once again making my birthday so memorable and for spoiling me so much. You are the very best friends and I look forward to another year of scrapping together. <3 you guys :D

Hello again... what a busy couple of weeks it has been. Storm's birthday, my birthday, the start of our Thursday Therapy group again and I have a visitor from Ireland.

I wanted to put these pics up before but I couldn't because these are the Christmas gifts I did for the Thursday girls and they weren't ready to do before we all went away before Christmas. I know... I know I should be more organised but I knew what I wanted and I wanted only that... I found these burlap bags at a market we have here on Thursdays and Saturdays, and got them edged in the colours that fit the girls. I wanted to have their names embroidered on the bags but that wasn't going to happen - the material was too thick so I had to go to plan B. I got big chipboard letters and painted them the same colours as the bags.

These are what the bags looked like all together.

So happy and cheerful :D just like us girls.

Mine is blue. Although I don't really have a favourite colour I do love blue.

Desi got the orange one...

Ils will only have red anything... I think she likes it... alot!

And green for Cher.

I put their names on with rub-ons and then some flowers and ribbon to pretty them up. Willy drilled a hole in them and I attached them to the handles with ribbon. Each was finished of with a pretty big flower. Inside the bags was a matching wine carrier bag and a snack bowl.

I think that they were pretty happy with their gifts and I had a ball making  them.

Tomorrow I will add some photos from my birthday breakfast and then hopefully I will have finished the layout I have been working on.

I don't know about you but I never spring clean in spring. I do mine in January, it must have something to do with a new year, new beginnings, fresh start or something :)

Anyway last year Simon and I decided that we needed to redo the patio, the TV lounge and I needed new linen for our bedroom. So we agreed that we would do all the things that we needed to do and not buy each other presents for anniversary, birthdays or Christmas, all of which fall from 26 November to 12 January.

So this is what it looked like before...

This is what it looks like now. I love it - it is so clean and fresh looking.

The dining table looked like this and the cushions were looking old and faded.

Now it looks like this. It has made such a difference and I am not sorry that this is the route we chose to go.

With that all done I decided I needed to tackle my studio. I have acquired so much stuff and it is really beginning to look cluttered. The first place I tackled was the on-suite shower, which I use for storage to. Inside the shower I had all my wrapping papers, gift bags and packets and my chipboard letters which were in a big tray. Overflowing as you can see. I went to the plastic shop and got some plastic boxes, 30 in fact and have sorted them out by letter. I am still busy with it and hope to finish today. I will then take photos for you.

I want to have it sorted and tidy by the end of the week so that I can start scrapping again. I have lots of projects in mind for this year.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend wherever you are and whatever you are doing.

Happy Birthday Stormie. Yesterday 25 years ago you were born. You were feisty, strong willed and very determined as a baby and not much has changed. I am so glad that you chose to spend you birthday with us. You will always be my baby and I love you. Mom xxx

I have no idea where the time has gone. It seems like just yesterday that she was this tiny baby.

Now she is a high school history teacher, living on her own, supporting herself and loving life. It has been such a roller coaster ride and I a proud to be your mom. :D

Happy New Year to all of you. I hope that it is all of the above for you. This year I decided that I would not make any new years' resolutions because I seldom stick to them and then I beat myself up for not being able to stick to them... so this year I figured if I didn't make any - no problem. I am however going to try and post more regularly, the problem is is that I really do not feel like I have anything amazing or interesting to share, but I have been told many times that I wrong so I am going to try new things this year and share them with all of you.

Looking forward to a wonderful 2012.
