CSI - CASE # 43

Hello Again

It's Monday again and I don't know what the weather is doing but I am wearing a long sleeved 'T' shirt and a jersey - weird huh, well it is really seeing as though it is the end of October already. We had a terrific rain storm on Saturday night and had hail the size of large marbles. I managed to take a couple of photos of it, it really was very pretty.

It really came down for about 10 or 15 minutes then it stopped and in this time there was so much water that it came up underneath my dining room doors and flooded the dining room, the formal lounge and a good part of the open area, all this just as we were leaving to go out to a show. :( Simon cleaned up all the water while I got ready. Thank goodness for his machines, and for him :)

Now the show was a whole other story. We went to see Dirty Dancing at Monte Casino. This has to be my favourite movie of ALL time and I was so excited to see it as a show with my kids. The guy who played Johnny was hot and the girl who played Baby was very good - but - I have to say that this is the first time that I have been disappointed by one of the shows that we have had here and I have seen them all and seen them overseas so I have something to compare them with. Really not a great show :( but I won't let it put me off seeing any others.

Yesterday my family went to watch the cricket live and left me at home, home alone :) and I was able to get stuck into the latest challenge from CSI, I posted the brief in my last post but here it is again in case you missed it.

Here is my layout

Using the colours (Scheme) was the easy bit. I wanted to use transparency (Evidence) but was stuck on what I wanted to do with it until I decided to do the whole page on a transparency. I covered the whole sheet with random drops of Letttuce, Meadow, Lemonade and Sandal alcohol inks and blended them slightly then spritzed with the blending solution. I love the way it turned out, kind of like a watercolour. I decided to go with the green and yellow as my main colour. I still have a problem combining papers from different ranges, but I am working on it, but I really loved the yellow dot, so I paired it with a plain green and also used a bit of the light spring green, which holds the journaling too. I placed the transparency onto white cardstock so that it showed up better. I wanted to use a photo of Ali and I together, she is my sister in law and I just adore her. I am so lucky that we get on so well together and I love it when I get to see her, and my brother too and I really wish that we lived closer together. I treasure every minute that I spend with her when I go to Ireland to see them.

I wanted to bring in some more black and white so I cut out the tickets from the sheet that you can download at CSI and then stamped onto them and adhered them into the cluster of flowers.I used a white cropodile brad that says Memories to hold the pages together and also added some black and white in the ribbon.

At the top left of the page I made some of these banners to go with the ones that I cut from the download sheet, then punched a hole through the whole lot and tied some white and black ribbon and added the yellow rose and black pearl bling.

At the bottom right I added this quote from the download sheet which fit perfectly for my page. It reads " A good friend is a connection to life, a tie to the past, a road to the future, the key to sanity in a totally insane world" Ali is all of those things to me. I used a yellow heart hat pin in the knot of the ribbon and added a yellow and white rose and the butterfly and bling to finish it off.

My journaling is hidden on the file folder that says 'Friend'.

Thank you for taking a look.
