Hello Everyone!

I have another post playing catch-up.

This layout was created for Shimelle Laine's Clear the Desk class where she showed how to put kits together from your stash and use up everything you had chosen. This was where I really found my groove with papers and colours.

Another layout from the same class using a busy background paper. This was taken from the twins fourth birthday party.

I love that she gives you starting points for your layouts which takes the guess work out of wondering what to do. Stops me wasting so much time too <3

What I have loved most about all of her classes is the fact that she has shown me it's ok to be really bold and how to mix different styles of embellishments and papers together to make a cohesive layout. This one is so bold with the papers and it is also one of my favourites.

Another layouts mixing paper from different ranges and also embellishments from different ranges.

I have also managed to use up much of my old paper and I mean really old paper. You get a whole new look by mixing it with new papers.

What I have discovered on this journey is that I really love bold layouts. This is my youngest grand daughter on Valentines Day. She is just so sweet!

Another thing I have learned from Shimelle Laine is that you don't have to theme your layouts and any thing can almost always be adapted to whatever your want if you choose wisely.

When I scrap I don't only do the happy or pretty stories I like to add in all the stories that make up my life. I created this layout for my boy Butch who got a sore on his leg. The vet told me it was cancerous but that they managed to get it all and that hopefully he would be ok. I was devastated. BUT he seems to be fine and I keep hoping it will stay like that.

More travel layouts and nearly caught up with documenting the places we have visited :D

This layout was done at a class we went to and had some mixed media on it which I am not wild about. I am glad I tried the techniques but I don't love them. This is a very different layout for me. It is good to try new things and then you can keep what you like or lose it :D

This double layout was done at the same event and although I have adapted to suit my style so that I could try the effects it is not my usual style :D

The last of the layouts from the Celebr8 weekend this is more my style and I am glad that I tried something different.

This layout was created from Shimelle Laine's A Most Magical Scrapbook and is from our visit to Euro Disney last year. We had such fun there.

This Grandpa and his girl have a very special bond and it is lovely to see them together. I used the yellow as it is such a happy layout. Lots of old stuff being used here too.

I have scrapped with these girls for about 14 years now. We do conventions and scrap days together and this was from our latest one. A bright fun layout for fun girls <3

And I think this will be it for today. This layout is also from A Most Magical Scrapbook Class and is perfect for a most magical little miss.

Thank you for stopping by and wading through all of these layouts. I really appreciate your visit and the time you take to leave me a lovely message. I will have the last lot, hopefully, tomorrow or the day after.

Till next time - Happy Scrapping!

  1. I love these Val! My favorite is the first one... Miss the photo & what you did with it. But all are wonderful-the bold, the old with the new, the mix & match. The classes you took sound divine. I think I would like to join something like Let's Scrap was...just to get me kickstarted. Any suggestions?

  2. Hello Lovely nice to catch up with you and see your gorgeous pages! ;-) I hope you had a fabulous holiday and that you are doing well! ;-)
Thanks so much for the visit to my blog and your lovely comments, they really are so appreciated! ;-)
I love Shimelle too and I followed her when she was with Two Peas in a Bucket...her style is fabulous. The pages you created are stunning and I can see your style in each of's a Val flair definitely!!
I love the bold colours and layouts and using up old papers and stash is really cool and I know it gives one a great sense of satisfaction and is a de-cluttering in itself.
My favourite must be this last page...kit is pure magic for sure and everything is just perfect in placing, colouring, design and style! ;-)

  3. Val, you don't know you happy it makes me to see you blogging your layouts once again. I absolutely LOVE this new style of yours. How you are able to mix all kinds of different pattern papers and lots of embellishments, without losing sight of the photos and journaling, is so well done. Speaking of photos, how lucky you are to have a life that affords you to travel to all those wonderful places. What memories you will have when you look back through your albums when you are old ☺. I'm sure your grand-children will enjoy seeing themselves through your eyes as well. I will certainly come back time and time again to take inspiration from your layouts. How you design a page to hold multiple photos. The way you create fun groupings. The way tags are used as embellishments. How you place your journaling. How you use paper punches. All of it. I'm so glad you're back. ♥♥♥

  4. Val, can I ask you how you store your pages? What sort of albums? x

    1. Hi Tracey... I have ring and post bound albums. As the old ones are filling I am switching to ring bound as it is easier to put new pages in whereas with the post bound you have to take the pages out and move them all which is a pain.

  5. Wow!! Val, these are totally gorgeous, ALL of them - I love the colours you're using and the way your scrapping style has evolved. You're one of the people I've been following for years and it's brilliant to see how our styles develop and change isn't it?
There are so many liftable designs and pinchable details in these pages I will definitely be copying :o)xxx

  6. Oh wow Val, you have a winning style with all of these, great colors and papers and lovely photos.. you have used the papers so well and I love the clean feel to each page.. wonderful creating!!

  7. How wonderful to see you back creating, journalling and inspiring others with your beautiful pages. Your style is perfect for multiple photos as well as single ones. I love the journalling on the front of the layout and the bold mix of colours and patterns. I've spotted some of my favourite older papers mixed in there and they still look stunning. Thanks for sharing your creativity here. xo

  8. At least you are catching up... I am still chasing my tail. Love all of these. Well done
